12/3/07 Live Fire Training.
SMTFC Volunteers went up to LCPSTC for a live burn class
taught by Capt. Bender and LT. Mccardell.


7/30/07 Bale Out Training
This weeks training was bale out training instructed by
Captain Bender at the LCPSTC.
7/28/07 Members assist with Cadet Camp
Engine 211-3 and Rescue 211 assisted with a Vehicle Rescue
demonstration for the 1st Annual Manheim Township Cadet Camp. Crew
showed the campers the methods of vehicle extrication.
7/9/07 Station 211 assists 24 with a house fire.
Engine 2-11-3 was dispatched to 1734 Zarker Rd in 2-4's first
due for a house fire. Crews assisted with fire suppression and Truck work.
7/9/07 Monday Night Training
This weeks training consisted of 2 parts. The 1st was
extricating a patient from a vehicle using the SKED board. The 2nd was
some pump training for FF Peters and handline training for the other members.
7/1/07 Garage Fire in 1st Due
Stations 211 & 24 were alerted for a garage fire in the 700
block of Janet Avenue. Deputy 24 (Roten) arrived on scene and advised of
a fully involved garage fire. He then requested additional resources
from Neffsville.
6/30/07 Benefit Breakfast for Charleston, SC LODD
Firefighters
Engine 211-3 and QRS 211 went to Station 27 to support a
benefit breakfast for the fallen firefighters in Charleston, SC.
6/25/07 First due Apartment Fire.
Station 2-11 was dispatched to 923 Prince St. for a reported
Apartment fire with Possible people trapped. Engine 2-11-3 went responding
within 30 seconds and Sgt. Mccardell reported smoke showing from the station.
Engine 2-11-3 arrived on location with a working fire. Engine 2-11-3 split
crews with 2 to the rear for fire suppression and 2 to the second floor for
search and rescue. Crews had heavy fire on all floors. Crews did a primary
search and found no one. Engine 2-11-3 crew did a quick knock down of the
fire. Crews were on scene for 5 hours.

6/4/07 Rope Rescue training At L.C.P.S.T.C


5/23/07 Fire prevention At Bucher Elementary School.

5/13/07 Building fire in CO. 2-7 first due.
Engine 2-11-3 and Engine 2-11-1 were dispatched to 16 Meadow
LN. to assist CO. 2-7 on a building fire. Engine 2-11-3 was second due Engine
and laid a line in to supply Engine 2-7-1. Crews assisted CPT. Herskowitz and
FF. Gallagher with the initial attack into the Post office side. Crews were on
scene for aprox. 3 hours.

4/28/07 SMTFC training in VRT at LPSTC.
Engine 2-11-1 went and assisted LT Burrs teach a VRT
scenario to his EMT class.
crews demonstrated how to safely extricate victims
entangled in a car.
4/16/07 Monday Night Township Training
Once a month the 3 Township Departments join for a training
session. This month Engine 211-1, Engine 211-3, Engine 24-1, Engine 27-2,
Squad 27, and Truck 24 participated in a Vehicle Rescue Scenario to the rear
of Station 27.
4/13/07 BUSY FRIDAY THE 13TH!
At 4:57 am Engine 2-11-3 was
dispatched to 2807 Blacksmith way to assist co 2-7 with a House fire.
Dep. 2-7 went on location with fire showing. Engine 2-11-3 went on location
and went in service with a 2 1/2 line. Crews made an interior attack but
command evacuated minutes later. Crews then made a quick knock of the fire
from the rear, then proceeded to make another interior attack. Crews were on
scene for about 2 hours.
Crew: FF Gross, SGT. Mccardell, FF Whatmore, FF Cohan,
FF miller.
Crews didn't get much of a break, shortly after clearing
the dwelling fire, Engine 2-11-1 and QRS 2-11 were dispatched to Rt. 30 and
Chester Rd for an MVA. Crews assisted EMS with pt. care and also hazard
control. Shortly after clearing the MVA crews were alerted to 1755 Oregon Pike
for a Poss. Building fire. Crews from 2-4, 2-7, and 2-11 investigated and
found smoke in a bathroom. Crews determined it was due to a burned out vent
fan. Crews ventilated and co. 2-11 went available. Crews also responded to 3
QRS calls through out the day.
4/9/07 Monday Night Vehicle Rescue
For this weeks Monday Night Training we traveled to the LCPSTC
for Vehicle Rescue Training. Crews practiced using Hydraulic Tools, Air
Chisel, and the Reciprocating Saw.
